Volunteer Mobilization Meeting Held to Welcome Winter Olympics
In order to fulfill the volunteer work in the upcoming Winter Olympics, the university spared no effort to mobilize the young volunteers to pass down the Olympic spirit, and carry out the purpose and performance of volunteer service of Winter Olympics. On the afternoon of December 8th, our university held a volunteer mobilization meeting to in the lecture hall. Guo Liwen, deputy secretary of the university’s Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Leaders of the university’s Youth League Committee, Students’ Affairs Office, library staff, teacher volunteers and 290 probationary volunteers also attended the convention.
Guo Liwen gave the flag to the volunteer representatives and passed on hopes as well as requirements to the volunteers. He emphasized that volunteers would play an indispensable role in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. Participating in Winter Olympics volunteer work is a glorious mission,with major responsibility. He sincerely hoped that the probationary volunteers could possess the spirit of " willingness to volunteer and serve ", and strive to become outstanding volunteers who remain true to their original aspiration, equality and fraternity, professional excellence, solidarity and mutual assistance. In addition, he encouraged everyone to hold a high sense of responsibility and fulfillment, to bond closely, to overcome difficulties, to constantly improve themselves as well as show the spirits of NCUST students.
Wang Qiangqing, secretary of the Youth League Committee, introduced the progress of our university’s volunteer work in welcoming Winter Olympics, and put forward specific requirements for general, medical services and anti-doping volunteers. What’s more, he also planned and deployed other works, such as selecting key volunteers, improving volunteer management team and supplementing recruitment as well as volunteers training, promotion and so on.
During the meeting, all volunteers took an oath. The sonorous oath demonstrated the determination of NCST volunteers to contribute, and the resounding slogan demonstrated the positive and enterprising style of NCST volunteers. After the mobilization meeting, teachers from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the College of Foreign Languages conducted professional training for volunteers on "cardiac resuscitation" and "foreign languages learning of college student volunteers in Winter Olympics".
