Overview
College of Civil and Architectural Engineering has origins that trace back to 1984 from the Department of Civil Engineering of Hebei Institute of Mining and Refining. There are 127 faculty members in the college, including 22 professors, 37 associate professors, 1 doctoral supervisor, 39 master supervisors, and 37 teachers with doctoral degree.
Currently the college has 9 undergraduate majors in civil engineering, water supply and drainage science and engineering, architecture, urban and rural planning, building environment and energy application engineering, engineering management, traffic engineering, transportation and logistics engineering. It has the right to confer a master’s degree in civil engineering, engineering management and the field of construction and civil engineering. The college possesses Hebei provincial key laboratory, “Hebei Earthquake Engineering Research Center” and the key discipline of Hebei Province, “Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Engineering and Protection Engineering”. Existing “civil engineering” national characteristic specialty, provincial “building and building materials education, innovation highland”, provincial “civil engineering experiment teaching teacher center”, provincial “civil engineering teaching team”, provincial key laboratory Hebei Earthquake Engineering Research Center with a total laboratory area of 6778 square meters, and it has internationally advanced pseudo-power test devices.
In recent years, the college has undertaken more than 260 various scientific research projects, including 21national-level projects, more than 60 provincial and ministerial-level projects, and published more than 900 papers, among which more than 260 are included in SCI, EI, ISTP. Editor-in-chief and co-editing 3 national standards, published more than 90 monographs teaching materials, obtained 99 authorized patents. The college has successively won 1 first prize for scientific and technological progress in Hebei Province, 2 second prizes for scientific and technological progress in Hebei Province, 3 third prizes for scientific and technological progress in Hebei Province, 1 second prize for teaching achievements in Hebei Province, and outstanding achievements of Hebei Provincial Social Science Fund Project 1 prize, 1 second prize of Hebei Province Higher Education Scientific Research Achievement, 1 first prize of Hebei University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Meeting, Tangshan Science and Technology Progress Award and Tangshan City Outstanding Social Science Achievement Award and other various awards in total 17.
College adheres to the college motto of "integrity, pragmatism, diligence, and innovation", insisting on the philosophy of solid foundation, emphasizing on practice, and re-use of skills, and following the policy of being based in Hebei, serving the region, and facing the whole country. Over the years, college has trained a large number of high-quality applied talents for construction and related industries, and has made great contributions to local economic and social development.
