Overview
College of Electrical Engineering, founded in 1958, originating from the major of enterprise electrification automation and the automation instrumentation major of metallurgy and chemical. The college offers five undergraduate programs: Automation, Measurement and Instrument, Electronic Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering and Automation and Electrical Engineering and Automation (Sino-German cooperation program). Besides, the college offers postgraduate programs in Control, Science and Technology, Electronic Information (Control, Instrumentation Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Technology and Application) and Energy (Electrical Engineering) two types of professional master's degree authorization centers. The college has 96 faculty members, including 50 teachers with full vocational and doctoral degrees, 33 master supervisors, 1 member of the Instruction Committee of the Ministry of Education, and 2 candidates of Hebei Province's "333 Talents Project". The college has a qualified and great faculty with strong team structure. At present, there are more than 1,500 undergraduate students and 150 postgraduate students studying at the college. The programs are very competitive and more than 95% of the graduates get employed upon graduation.
At present, the college has 1 provincial-grade experiment teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial internship center for college students, 1 provincial talent training mode innovation experimental area, and 2 key municipal laboratories, with floor space up to 6000 m2 and total investment of 40 million yuan, which have been regarded as one of the "Enterprise clinics" of Tangshan city. The Automation program is the pilot major of "Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program" of Ministry of Education and "Comprehensive Reform pilot major" of Hebei Province. The Electrical Engineering and Automation (Sino-German cooperation class, double bachelor's degree) program is approved by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with Heidelberg University of Applied Technology. The students have attended professional competitions and won more than 40 national and provincial awards in the national Electronic Design Competition for College students, NXP Cup Intelligent Car Competition, Siemens Cup National Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, Internet + College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and National Integrated Circuit Competition for College Students.
The college has undertaken more than 100 scientific research projects recently. Among them, more than 30 national provincial natural science found, 2 provincial third prizes of science and technology progress, 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes of Tangshan science and technology progress, 16 authorized invention patents, 4 provincial excellent courses, and undertakes educational reform projects at or above the provincial level four.
After more than 60 years of development, the college has become an important talent training and scientific and technological innovation base, and has made important contributions to regional economic and social development.
