College of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Overview
College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of North China University of Science and Technology was founded in 2000, and it has three bachelor degree programs, including Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Preparations and Traditional Chinese Medicine. At present, there are more than 800 undergraduates and cultivate the total number of graduates from universities are more than 1500. It has a master’s degree program in pharmacy and a master’s program in preventive pharmacology, which enrolls more than 30 postgraduates every year.
At present, the college has 50 teachers, including 9 professors and 13 associate professors, 52.94% of them have doctoral degree. The college has five disciplines and one central laboratory. The college has provincial first-rate bachelor’s degree program construction points, three key laboratories in Tangshan, two provincial-level excellent courses, and one excellent teaching team of undergraduate quality engineering project. In addition, the college was also a Pharmaceutical virtual simulation experimental center and a pilot of comprehensive reform of traditional Chinese medicine. In recent five years, it has undertaken 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 9 projects of Natural Science Foundation of Hebei Province, 1 Science and Technology Support Project of Hebei Province, 2 projects of CSPC fund of Hebei Province, and 1 project of Education Reform of Hebei Province. In addition, it has also won three Science and Technology Progress Awards of Hebei Province, published more than 100 SCI and core journal papers. In addition, the faculty also owns 12 works and 18 patents.
The college has 11 teaching practice bases, including Beijing Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Tianjin WuXi AppTec Co., Ltd., and Tangshan Kailuan General Hospital, it covers the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. It not only meets the needs of practical teaching of various majors in college, but also promotes “zero distance employment”, which makes the employment choices of graduates more extensive. At present, the employment rate of college graduates has reached 100% for 10 consecutive years. They work in many fields, such as drug research and development, pharmaceutical education, drug quality control, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical marketing, pharmaceutical enterprise management and so on, the graduates were well received by employers.
